One of the main goals of "OLD GOLD CRUISERS" events is to raise money for charity through 50/50 raffles
and donations.  We would like to thank all those generous people who have supported and contributed to
these efforts.  In the past few years,
"OLD GOLD CRUISERS" has accomplished the following:
$7500 was raised for Nesley Salinas, a seven year old girl in need of a kidney transplant.
While waiting for a donor, Nesley had many close calls and spent time in and out of the hospital.
During this time, it was concluded that Nesley's mother would be a suitable donor.  In the fall of 2007,
Nesley received the transplant.  It took a little longer than expected for her mother to recuperate, but as of
the last report, both were doing fine.
$5500 was raised for the Boland Family of Batavia, IL,
who were brought to our attention by Bob and Peg
Bartlett, owners of 4 Gear Trans Co., a sponsor of
"OLD GOLD
CRUISERS"
events.  Jim and Debbie Boland had been married for
25 years and were the parents of 5 children.  The family had lost 1
child in 1995 from complications from a brain stem tumor. Debbie
was diagnosed and underwent surgery for a brain aneurysm in
2001.  In January of 2005, it was found that Jim was suffering from
2 brain tumors.  One was removed, but the second was diagnosed
as inoperable.  Before his passing in September 2005, Jim opened
an account in his children's behalf and designated that the funds
that we raised would be put into this account. We thank everyone
for their generosity helping this family in their time of need.
"OLD GOLD CRUISERS" raised $5800 for

Elderday Care Center in Batavia, IL, a local
charitable organization providing various services for
senior citizens.  Mickey Miller, director, and her crew were
a familiar sight at Goody's cruise nites and
"OLD GOLD
CRUISERS"
events. Thank you for generosity and support!
"OLD GOLD CRUISERS"  again sponsored donations for Elderday Care Center in Batavia, IL.
and raised over $4800.00 for Elderday. The 50/50 drawings contributed $3186.00 while the
Elderday car show contributed the balance. Additional sponsors of the car show were Ken Hiscox, Tri City
Sheetmetal, Geneva, Il., (Trophys). Ollie's Garage and Thompson Auto Supply, both of Batavia sponsored
the refreshments and lunch for the participants. Thanks to all for a very successful show!!!
